LPRC Makes Significant Donation to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP)
Monrovia, Liberia – October 14, 2025 – The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has made a significant donation of one hundred and twenty-four dozen (1,488 pieces) of LPRC-branded customized copybooks to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Republic of Liberia.
The donation forms part of LPRC’s contribution to the ongoing National Street Children Project titled “Support a Child, Save the Future” an initiative being implemented by the Ministry with the collective support of line ministries, agencies, and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). The project aims to give Liberian children a brighter future through access to quality education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.
The “Support a Child, Save the Future” initiative is a transformative national effort led by the Government of Liberia and its partners to address the situation of street children across the country and reintegrate them into educational and developmental programs.
During the donation ceremony, Hon. Jacob Julius Smith, Deputy Managing Director for Administration of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, speaking on behalf of LPRC Management, expressed appreciation to the team from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection headed by Mr. Mike Fayah David, Chief of Office Staff to the Minister of Gender, for their unwavering commitment to championing programs that nurture and empower Liberian youth, the nation’s future leaders.
Hon. Smith further noted that this donation of LPRC-branded customized copybooks complements the initial contribution of US$5,000 made by the Company during the official launch of the National Street Children Project. He emphasized that the gesture underscores LPRC’s sustained commitment to supporting initiatives that not only transform individual lives but also contribute to shaping a better future for the nation as a whole.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry, Mr. Mike Fayah David, Chief of Office Staff to the Minister of Gender, extended profound gratitude to Hon. Amos B. Tweh, Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, and the entire LPRC Management team for their foresight and continued support to this important national initiative.
Mr. David assured the LPRC Management that the donated materials would be used for their intended purpose. He further stated that the Ministry, through its Project Management Team, would ensure proper accountability and transparency in the distribution process, a step aimed at promoting public trust and strengthening donor confidence in government programs.
