LPRC Makes Huge Intervention to Support At-Risk Youth at LRRRC Holding Center in Johnsonville
Monrovia, Liberia - September 26, 2025 - The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has made a significant donation of assorted food and essential items to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for onward delivery to the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC). The gesture is intended to support at-risk youth currently housed at the LRRRC holding center in Johnsonville.
The donation included: 90 bags of 25kg rice, 25 gallons of vegetable oil, 25 gallons of palm oil, 5 bags of onions, 20 bags of eating salt, 3 cartons of Vita Cubes, 3 bales of used trousers, 3 bales of used shirts, 155 mattresses and 10 solar lights.
Presenting the items on behalf of LPRC Managing Director, Hon. Amos B. Tweh, Deputy Managing Director for Administration, Hon. Jacob Julius Smith, expressed gratitude to his immediate boss for his farsighted and meticulous leadership.
“I want to first thank my boss, the Managing Director, Hon. Amos B. Tweh, for his vision and tireless commitment to national service. On his behalf, I encourage you, our young brothers and sisters, to take this rehabilitation process seriously so that you can become productive citizens. You are not defined by the negative label you are currently called. Instead, you are gifted with potential and can become valuable contributors to the future of Liberia,” Hon. Smith said.
Receiving the items, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, commended Managing Director Amos B. Tweh for the farsighted leadership he continues to provide and praised the LPRC management under his astute guidance for the commitment and patriotism he demonstrates in national leadership.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director for Operations at the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) extended thanks and appreciation to the LPRC, assuring that the donated items will be used for their intended purpose.
The LPRC remains committed to supporting national efforts aimed at restoring dignity, hope, and a brighter future for Liberia’s youth.
