LPRC Management Welcomes New Board of Directors.
(Monrovia - February 16, 2024)- The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company is pleased to announce that its newly constituted board of directors has taken office.
The announcement comes after members of the board participated in an intensive orientation and onboarding training process in the Board Room of the company.
The orientation was intended to familiarize board members with the vision, strategic mission, culture and tradition of LPRC. The training and onboarding exercise also positioned board members to be acquainted with one another and the ethics and values that drive the governance of the company.
The current LPRC Board is made up of individuals from diverse professional backgrounds to include law, Banking & Finance, Economics, Public Sector Management and Petroleum Depot Management who have long standing and efficient corporate governance records.
The board members are: Mr. Aaron J. Wheagar, Chairman, Madam Mary Kpoto, Mrs, Nancy Moye, Mrs, Delphine Willis, Edwine Zelee, Anthony M. Autridge and Cllr. Moifee Kanneh.
In a brief remark, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Aaron Wheagar, thanked President Joseph Nyumah Boakai for reposing trust in them and expressed confidence in the leadership of the current management team and pledged the board’s fullest support and cooperation to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and to work collaboratively in order to elevate the company to unhindered new levels of growth and success. “Trust us the board is willing to give you all its support". Mr. Wheagar remarked.
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director Mr. Amos Tweh expressed delight in the lineup of the board and assured members of the board of the SMT’s commitment to providing a robust management oversight to trilled productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
The board of directors is responsible to provide policy directions, and strategic guidance in the operations of the company and at the same time review and approve all annual budgets, corporate guarantees and projects.
It can be recalled that the President of Liberia, H.E.Joseph Nymah Boakai appointed a new Board of Directors in line with the constitution of the republic of Liberia.
