LPRC Provides 1,000 Gallons Diesel Fuel to TV Stations
In its continuous effort to collaborate with various organizations in combating the deadly Ebola virus in the Country, the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) on Tuesday, August 5, provided One thousand gallons of diesel fuel worth of coupons to various Television Stations through the leadership of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) as an initial contribution in buttressing the media effort in creating awareness on the deadly Ebola virus.
During the occasion, Managing Director T. Nelson Williams, II said they were grateful to the Liberian media for the education provided in alerting the public on the Ebola virus. “The various websites, newspapers, radio and television stations have continued to give quality reportage on the fight against the deadly Ebola virus and we at the LPRC want to say thank you,” Mr. Williams intoned.
Presenting the 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel worth of coupons, Public Relations Assistant Manager William Morris, said the role of the media in creating Ebola awareness cannot be over emphasized. Receiving the coupons, PUL President Kamara A. Kamara, said they were appreciative of the gesture from the LPRC but stressed that as a means of sustaining the awareness program on Ebola, they will need to encourage the various community radio stations round the country. The PUL president also indicated that for the fact that Ebola has restricted everyone shows it is an emergency and there is a need to take the necessary preventive measures and provide the awareness in combating it.
In a brief remark, Rev. Emmanuel Bowier, a member of the Board, said they were grateful to the media for the awareness on Ebola and urged everyone to take Ebola seriously as it is real.
