Third day of Ebola Awareness Continues
Day three of the awareness campaign on the fight to eradicate the deadly Ebola virus continued from an LPRC perspective with the Public Relations and Health section passionately informing community dwellers that Ebola is real and is deadly. The team visited four communities; Bilimah, Logan Town, New Kru Town and Duala.
Public Relations Assistant Manager, William K. Morris, who spearheaded the campaign in these communities, told the community dwellers “Ebola is real. We must take it seriously”. He along with Toby Blamo, a nurse from the company’s health unit, provided concise tips on the prevention of the deadly Ebola virus.
Plastic buckets and other disinfectants were presented to these communities via their leadership. Therefore, in a space of three days, the company has spread the Ebola awareness message in eleven communities which include: West Point, Vai Town, Clara Town, Peugeot Garage, Doe Community, Freeport, Jamaica Road, Bilimah, Logan Town, New Kru Town and West Point.
In a related development, the Board and senior management of the LPRC has urged other institutions in the country to emulate the example creating awareness of the deadly Ebola virus. Speaking during the launching program of the awareness campaign in the township of West Point, Managing Director, T. Nelson Williams,II noted, “we are urging other institutions in the country to join the fight against Ebola as this is a national problem’’. Many persons and organizations have meanwhile hailed the LPRC for such a laudable initiative in creating the Ebola Awareness.
