Bid for Lubricants opens
The official Bid opening for the supply of Lubricants to the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) took place on Wednesday, July 10, in the Training Hall with four entities involved.
Three Liberian based entities; Cactus, Auto Line and Naresh Brother and VPS Lubricants from the Netherlands, all had their bid documents meticulously looked into relative to the specifics required.
Taking into account, the Bid Bond price of each bidder, Cactus provided a Bid Bond of US$184,650.00, Auto Link, US$228,900.00, Naresh Brother, US$261,400.00 and VPS Lubricants, 96,975 Euros.
Assistant Procurement Manager, Prince Kieh, briefing the bidders indicated that pricing is not the only issue in determining the winner and further stated “no one has won and no one has lost”. He noted that though they have up to 90 days to respond as it relates to notifying the winner and losers, they will however inform everyone in three weeks in announcing the results.
At the close of the exercise, Acting Managing Director, Aaron J. Wheagar, I, thanked everyone for participating in the bidding process. “As part of our Strategic Plan, we want to supply quality lubricants”, Mr. Wheagar intoned. He also said he will form an evaluation panel to look at all that was gone through and then recommend a winner with everyone informed.
