PLANNING & PROJECTS REVIEW
 
The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) basic objectives as established by the 5-Year Strategic Plan is to restore pre-war capacity, meet statutory mandate, increase revenue and strengthen the position and image of the company. 
 
One of the Strategic Focus Areas is the Technical / Operational Services of the Operations Division that is the lifeblood of the company.   Its operations of 2014 are reported as follows:  
 
PST Rehab & Expansion Project – Contractor: Motherwell Bridge Ltd.(MBL)
 
The following projects were completed by MBL:
 
Project Objective: Rehabilitating and expanding the Product Storage Terminal (PST)
Project Cost:  22.4 million
Payment Update:  Dec.2013 – 11.0 million
Project Status: Project Terminated in November 2014

Reason for Termination: Notice of Force Majeure consistent with sub-clause 19.2 of the contract concerning the EVD surge in March 2014.

Modernization and Rehabilitation of Ganta Oil Terminal (GOT) – Contractor: Petro Trade/Sultan Steel

 
Project Objective:   Maximize economic recovery & fuel security in leeward counties.
 
Project Cost: US$ 3,418,106.00
Project Field Monitoring & Observations (December 2013, Environmental studies in progress;

Project Commencement Date: expected to be completed in 2015;

 

 

 
Rehabilitation and Expansion of the Crude Storage Terminal (CST), - Contractor: LUTECH CONEX
 

Project Objective:   Facility will be used to supply Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) to LEC and others.;
Project Cost: US$ 25,000,000

Project Completion Date: expected to be completed in 2015

 

 

 

 
Construction of a Parking Lot Pavement - Contractor:
 
 
Project Objective:   Adhere to loading and environmental standards.
Project Cost: US$ 574,190.84

Project Objective:   New PMS line installation from Jetty to Tank Farm.

Truck Entrance Sliding Gate

Project Objective:  Enhance smooth entry and exit of trucks accessing the PST.
Project Cost: US$ 9, 508.00
