The future of LPRC is built on the excellence and diversity of its people.  This is why the Management Team is tasked with creation of the right environment that will attract and retain the right caliber of people needed to ensure the continued success of LPRC.    Our leadership has focused on ensuring that appropriate development opportunities and succession plans are in place to build capability. To supplement our existing internal capability, we also target experienced and skilled professionals in the external market and are continuing to increase our intake of graduates to create a strong internal talent pipeline for the future.

We encouraged and budgeted for a range of professional development programs and training to build capabilities in our people and are committed to creating an inclusive work environment where everyone is treated fairly, with dignity, respect and without discrimination.

CAPACITY BUILDING

To sustain the process of corporate development, LPRC emphasizes the importance of developing a strong and highly educated and skilled workforce. The severe capacity situation manifests itself at all levels of society, and the LPRC is no exception. To ensure an effective workforce, the Company has developed and implemented several capacity building programs.

Prominent amongst the initiatives taken is the Education Assistance Scheme (EAS). Under this scheme, employees are granted the opportunity to attend formal education institutions where over 75% of their tuition and fees are paid by the Company. Over 25% of LPRC employees benefit from this scheme. In addition to the EAS, LPRC has sent employees abroad, including to the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Morocco, Nigeria, Ghana and elsewhere for specialized training.

In addition, regular capacity building seminars are conducted in-house to continuously sharpen employees’ skills. LPRC also operates a computer literacy program to enable employees understand information technology.
